Avaya Scopia for IP office

Integrating Avaya IP Office with Avaya Scopia

Avaya IP Office is a telephony solution for the SMB organizations (up to 1000 users), providing easy communication for users inside the organization’s private network.

If your organization is smaller than 250 employees, you can enhance your solution by integrating Avaya IP Office with Scopia Solution for SMB deployments                   (Solution 1: Small Medium Business Solution for Videoconferencing).

The benefits of the integration are:

  • Point-to-point calls and conferences between Avaya endpoints and Scopia Solution endpoints in the private network.

  • High-end video experience.

  • Connecting to remote H.323/SIP endpoints outside the private network.

  • Connecting remote users with high-end video using Scopia Desktop and Scopia Mobile.

  • A complete, yet affordable video solution

When integrating with the Small Medium Business (SMB) solution as shown in Integrating Avaya IP Office with the SMB Solution, you deploy the Scopia XT Series MCU Edition for hosting videoconferences, the Scopia XT Desktop Server for Scopia Desktop Client and Scopia Mobile connectivity, and the XT5000 Series for connectivity with remote H.323 endpoints.

Figure Integrating Avaya IP Office with the SMB Solution

In this solution the Scopia XT Series MCU Edition hosts video conferences of up to nine users, one meeting at a time. Locating the Scopia XT Series MCU Edition in the DMZ enables remote H.323 endpoints to connect to the meeting. It performs SIP registering out of the box to IP Office’s PBX.

The Scopia XT Desktop Server is located in the DMZ to enable Scopia Desktop Clients and Scopia Mobile devices to join meetings. The Scopia XT Desktop Server has its own built-in firewall traversal features.

This solution’s main limitation is its non-scalability. It can host only one meeting at a time for up to nine participants. For a larger integrations with IP Office, see Integrating Avaya IP Office with Centralized Videoconferencing Solution.
